Day2 off.
Yesterday was a day of musts; must do laundry, must buy groceries. made beef bouganaise (beef stew but with wine - french). I have enjoyed sleeping in and spending time with 'Dre. I never know what day it is, ever since I have begun my class series at work and they have messed with my RDOs.
Should I be playing kickball when I am worried about snow? does one play kickball in long underwear, winter jacket and hats, gloves and scarf, or is it just like that in Maine?! Kickball and Deweys planned for this evening. Possibly Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Worked on coming up with 20 names of people from my reunion class to contact - harder than you think when the other committee members are in the same group of friends. So I ended up giving around 50 names, so that I could exract 20 people from a list. WOwserz.
Back at it tomorrow. I love the teacing even though it's exhausting. I do wish they would put a little more value on my RDOs though. I do need two and I would like them consecutively. Thank you. I feel guilty for wanting my days off. That's not cool. Might be Monday and Saturday next week, or just Saturday. Grrrrrr.
Things are good on the 4th floor. It's getting quite cold, which makes me not want to leave the house or my bed for that matter. Can't wait until I can use my skiis! A tune up is in order very soon I think. Still trying to push myself to go to the gym and not be a lard a$$. wish me luck.

Saturday/Wednesday
Off today randomly. A beautiful breakfast at Becky's diner. Spent the day around town; LL Bean - got myself a nice new water resistant fleece and something for mom, then headed to the Portland Museum of Art. They sure have a great collection! Got my nails done by Tory and they look great. Getting ready to make dinner with Andre and watch a movie. Maybe even make something sweet for tomorrow's class. Gotta go my baby is actually home with me all day today! YAY

Fall is here
So I am suddenly addicted to my blog. Most likely due to the fact that i spend a lot of time with moi, me, solo. That's ok, it has given me uddels of time to think and be creative with my time alone. Gearing up for he latest series of classes. Two a week starting tomorrow, 2 days each. Looking forward to it and also umm...nervous slightly. Studying the material tonight, as ell as making my lunch and having a damn drink!
I made an appearance at the gym tonight. 2.5 miles on the treadmill. A decent showing considering it's been 4 weeks! I get so down on myself and don't even want to walk in the door, let alone see a mirror. Today I turn over a new leaf. no more cheese fries - I did it all of September - and more fresh foods, 'cause we all know I am not giving up beer.
I made a really cool belt last night with bottle caps - just micro brews that Andre likes (I like them too, but it was a gift to Andre). He liked it and I was quite pleased with the end result. Also working on a purse made from recycled materials I have around the house. Should really get on with my evening though. The orange/pink lights look awesome in the bedroom and give a really nice glow to everything. :)

happy fall
Hello Fall!
Feeling like I might need to purchase a winter coat within the week. It's been dipping down to the 30's at night. Breakfast at Bintliff's with 'Dre, Mags and Trev. I felt very adult - it's a classy joint. Got to walk the new puppy pug Atticus! SO adorable! Who doesn't love a snuggly puppy? A nice morning with 'Dre and our friends. My CD burner is not working properly, so that makes me a little irked. I want it to work! Trying to burn a picture CD for Mags and Trev from their wedding. Headed to Matt and Amy's for a last of the season BBQ. YAY! It's pretty crisp out there today. Looking forward to getting a few things done around the house today too. Picture: us from our last BBQ, our first one together, just the two of us, at Portland Head Light. Later Gators!

Rant!
Trying to stay positive in a world that's trying to test me. Do not mess with my RDOs (regular days off)! Why would anyone assume that I want to work my days off or only have one and take OT (overtime)? Sure, I like money as much as the next person, but sometimes time is more valuable. I wish people did not assume that I have no life UGH! pisses me off! I am trying to deal with my constantly changing schedule, however it tries my temper. The worst part is that they don't care if this upsets me and I am the only one qualified to teach one of the classes, so I have to be at all of them!
Ya know what else gets me...the DEM committee - please don't call my house 6 times a day until the election and hang up every time you get the machine. This is frustrating. It almost makes me want to not vote for them. Let's be clear, I don't know who I am voting for yet. I frankly don't like either choice which turns me off to the whole process. I was for Hill, but apparently that didn't work out so well... This is one of two days off that I will have in a row until at least Thanksgiving. I promised the DEMs I would help them today for a few hours and on the 28th for a few hours, but they always want more. I am frankly only going because I promised I would 'cause at this point I am more annoyed than inspired right now.
This photo of palm trees makes me happy. It reminds me of being in LA and starting my new job and meeting some amazing new people. We don't have trees like this in Maine! or NY for that matter! The sun is shining and I need to turn my mood around! Lay-tah!

sept-tober
September was a blurr.
gone half the month on business. DC is really warm in comparison to Maine. met some great people, pushed the limits, pushed myself, got pushed, laughed cried and mostly clapped! i left a part of me with each of those amazing people and i took something from them as well. experience, risks, take chances, don't worry so much, laugh, love, enjoy, work hard, play hard, spread the message, keep the fire alive and pump up the energy and mostly never forget. many things cannot be repeated, some things must stay in Virginia and that's ok. i have never felt so supported, loved or wanted before. i have never felt so strong and soft at the same time.
On to October. i came home with a passion that I never allowed myself to feel. sometimes the walls we build can hurt us by protecting us too much. i so enjoy fall. Andre and i went apple picking and picked out a pumpkin, have enjoyed sleeping in and just spending time together. kickball has been great! Thursdays I feel like I am instantly accepted by my team and look forward to the Halloween party.
torn on the election. i am currently a fence sitter. i agree with both parties on some things. why can't life be like it was in hallowell. simple. money has halted or so it seems, late payments mean increased APR. thankfully my baby gets out early tonight between 5 and 8 I hope. T is back for a quick weekend before she moves abroad, M and T have a puppy and a condo and Dre wants to talk about working on the apartment. need more time to do things around the house, eczema is getting in the way of me getting things done. too much stuff in this house...clutter is killing me! volunteering at 2.

here and there
I hate when people try to bring me down. why is it that som people try their hardest to make other people feel badly? it's not nice.
stomach hurts.
wishing maine was closer to new york right now. 4 years in maine this august...by have i had good times, learned life lessons, grown, matured, grained weight, lost weight, gained weight, lost tonsils, gained a bunny and a wonderful boyfriend who is my best friend, lost great grandparents, got a promotion and a boss who is great. friends, memories, new experiences...
new york...sometimes just a memory. mostly just a memory. a phone call away, an 8 hour drive, a 4 day trip minimum, family. small town USA. oh to go back in time, i'd freee frame senior year of high school. ski instructing, close friends, close family, jeff came with me to prom, wonderful times, the nice house, windchimes, taking off during studyhalls, not a care in the world. those were the days.

sacrifices
Feeling like things are improving. So quickly you can get in over your head. everyone is leaving. the end of an era. the beginning of new friendships. stress inc, overtime inc., debt dec., quality time ?, contact hours dec.
it's a give and take. sacrifices which will hopefully pay off.
time will tell.
need to rest my head(ache)

my day
today is one of my days off. i always feel like i need to spend them wisely, yet research how i am going to spend it for far too long and am forced to make a decision. today i took the ferry and biked around an island in Maine. it wasn't a strenuous ride, but quite quaint. i definitely could feel the results of the physical activity and quickly realized how out of shape i have become over the last 4 to 6 years. but let's focus on the positive; it was a beautiful day and i enjoyed it, while being healthy.
it's come to the part of the day where i try to clean the loft and reorganize the odds and ends that make up our life. good luck me.
